MetaCritic indicates THE HUNGER GAMES (73) and RAMPART (70) are virtually tied as the best movies this week. OCTOBER BABY evidently hasn't been screened as no score is available for it. I watched two of this week's new films and enjoyed one of them and found the other to be extremely dull. This week go for THE HUNGER GAMES. Nothing else new is in the same league. Check out the MetaCritic website for additional comments on each film.
Check out Monday's Opening section to see the previews and synopses.
My review of THE HUNGER GAMES (***) is on the site now and my review of RAMPART (*½) will be posted at 4:30 p.m. today. Until then, here are national reviews of all the films.
